COLD HOLLER: a Postmodern (B)log Cabin in the Land of the Noonday Sun

Way up a holler between a couple of prominent knobs, below Panther (pronounced "Painter") Knob, we're building a log cabin. Go to the archives and start at the bottom for a chronological story. Comments are welcome! This diary of a project may digress and venture into literature, life, and my reflections on any particular day.

32: felling and hauling

Good friends are a blessing. Last week, Tobias returned and helped me fell and buck five trees. The next day, Greg brought his wife's rugged 4x4 Toyota with stiff suspension, and we used it to get way back into the property and haul all of the 20 green logs to the cabin site.

Above is a shot of Tobias, all ready for action in his chaps and showing off his newly-sharpened saw. And there's a picture and a very short video of Greg with Ruby (yes, the Toyota is a "she" -- I think Rose named her that in college before she married Greg and was nice enough to share her ride).
